Core daily activities are listed below. These mirror what we will be teaching in school each day. If your child does some days in school, you only need to do the activities for the days they are at home please.

 

At the bottom of the page you will also find additional activities you may wish to do with your child over the week - these are not core activities but suggested activities.

Note to parents this week: On Thursday we will be making junk modelling rockets. It may be worth keeping empty boxes, tubes, bottle lids etc for this activity.

Monday 25th January

Watch the projection on you tube. If you really want to immerse yourself in it you could turn the lights off and watch it on the tv perhaps. If you have a space projector you could use that instead.

 

Talk about what you can see, where are we? What do the children already know about space, stars, the moon etc.

Junk Modelling: Now we have learnt about rockets and how to get to space, today we are going to design and make our own. Use a selection of junk modelling for children to make their own rockets. Have a selection of junk modelling (boxes, tubes, bottle tops) for the children to make their own rockets or vehicles. Allow children to design and create their own rocket.
